For the first time, Wisconsin has moved into the top ten states in the nation for the number of Certified Economic Developers currently working in the state. At a high of 31, Wisconsin currently ranks 9th between Arizona (37 CEcDs) and Ohio (30 CEcDs). WEDA is excited to have been a part of bringing the IEDC training to the state, and we thank WEDC for their financial support to do so as well.

Congratulations to the new CEcDs, who passed the exam in 2013:

  1. Laura Brown, Center for Community Economic Development
  2. Naletta Burr, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation
  3. Patrick Drinan, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation
  4. Mary Gage, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation
  5. Melissa Hunt, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation
  6. Mary Perry, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation
  7. Mike Van Den Bosch, Walworth County Economic Development Alliance, Inc.

So my move to the state put us past Ohio!! Congratulations to all of the new CEcDs who passed in 2013. I am very proud that WEDC thought highly enough to get its people to sit for the examinations and to pass. The Texas through Arizona many of them belong to their Departments of Commerce (like WEDC). Well done CEcDs and the State of Wisconsin ED professionals.
