The Basic Economic Development Course is designed to provide an understanding of the basic concepts, theories, methods and practice will be taught by professionals who have earned the CEcD designation and members of the University of Wisconsin Extension Center for Community and Economic Development.

The course is accredited by the International Economic Development Council. It fulfills one of the prerequisites for those who wish to take the examinations for the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation.

The Basic Economic Development Course is designed to provide an understanding of the basic concepts, theories, methods and practice will be taught by professionals who have earned the CEcD designation and members of the University of Wisconsin Extension Center for Community and Economic Development.

The course is tentatively scheduled to begin mid- afternoon on Monday, September 8 and end at 2:30 on Thursday, September 11. In order to receive full IEDC certification credit for this course and a certificate indicating course completion, participants must attend the entire course and stay through the final session on the last day.

Please Note: Attendance is mandatory from Monday at 2:00 pm until Thursday at 2:30 pm, please plan your schedule accordingly.

Please make travel plans accordingly. Meals and refreshments included in the course fee: Monday dinner, Tuesday breakfast & lunch, Wednesday breakfast, Thursday breakfast & lunch and daily refreshments.


APA-Certification Maintenance Credits
APA-Certification Maintenance Credits may be available for each module of this course (2 per module) pending approval by WI-APA

Rooms must be reserved separately from course registration. There is a room block that ends August 9, 2014 at the Lowell Center, When calling to make a reservation request the BASECON block of rooms. The Lowell Center Guest Room Rates:

  1. Standard Room Single occupancy: $89 per night,
  2. Double occupancy: $101 per night;
  3. Deluxe Room Single occupancy: $105 per night,
  4. Double occupancy: $117 per night.
  5. State rate for $70/night or $82/night double rate.

To reserve a room:

Parking is included with the room reservation, either $8.00/day, or a remote lot is free parking.

REFUND POLICY:

If we receive your cancellation prior to 8-24-2014 we will refund 100% of your registration fee. If we receive your cancellation between 8-25-14 and 9-2-2014 you will receive a 90% refund. If we receive your cancellation after 9-3-14 you will receive a 75% refund.
