As the “Voice of Economic Development”, the Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) is dedicated to developing, advocating, advising and informing state and local leaders on how these tools can be used to grow our local economies.

WEDA membership is appropriate for those involved in growing the state, regional or local economies of Wisconsin. Whether you are a service provider, elected official, real estate developer, attorney or a commercial loan officer; WEDA’s AR2T of economic development works to align the policies and financial tools that make strategic investments community and economic development projects possible.
Advancing the AR2T of economic development
Through proactive legislative efforts, WEDA has been an ardent champion for, and defender of, policies programs and agencies that are critical to the success of local projects. Advancing the economic development tool box available to local communities and professionals is our primary objective.
Resources & Recognition:
WEDA’s full-time executive staff has 25 years of experience running local economic development organizations. The WEDA staff is dedicated and responsive to your economic development project or policy questions. In 2016, WEDA members can look forward to receiving valuable electronic communications including a case study magazine focused on projects, the WEDA Wire newsletter and other communications designed to inform economic development partners and contributors. In addition, WEDA will continue to celebrate the great projects that are implemented across Wisconsin through the Community and Economic Development Awards program. This program recognizes best practice projects while highlighting economic development tools that are vital to growing Wisconsin’s economy.
WEDA’s educational programs and conferences are designed to increase the effectiveness of individuals and communities actively engaged in community and economic development efforts. Our programs are diverse; from helping local elected officials and boards understand their roles in the economic development process, to providing a free seminar explaining how financial programs and applications may have changed in the past year. WEDA will advance the skills and expertise of our members by bringing in speakers, courses or workshops that meet the changing needs of our membership.
