Why Join - WEDA Membership Testimonials

Being a member of WEDA for over ten years has allowed me to interact with a vibrant community of economic development practitioners.  Not only does WEDA offer great networking opportunities but the conferences and training opportunities are well done and topical.  WEDA has provided me with many opportunities to be actively involved in the organization by being able to serve on its Board, Membership, Legislative and other committees and task forces.

WEDA has provided me with wide array of resources to draw upon, including a pro-active legislative agenda that continues to advance the issues concerning economic development professionals across the state.  When it comes to advancing Wisconsin’s economic development profession, WEDA simply has no other comparable.

Andrew L. Janke. CPM, EDFP,
Executive Director, Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation

While I am not an economic development professional, I am a WEDA member because I have shared interests and existing partnerships with economic development.  WEDA is a way for me to stay informed of available resources, such as upcoming training, conferences,  and locating buildings for relocation and expansion. WEDA provides business solutions through cooperation with a statewide network of partners and promotes professionalism and cooperation in economic activities across Wisconsin. It’s a great way to stay connected with local entities and receive updates on legislation developments and WEDC or other policy development.

A list of key benefits of participating in WEDA would include:

  • Receive regular news and information impacting WEDA initiatives and issues
  • Collaborate with private sector, higher education and economic development policy leaders
  • Become eligible for the WEDA Awards of Excellence recognition (this one is fluff)
  • Receive member discounted rates for WEDA's annual Governor's conference, trainings, workshops and programming
  • Collaborate on grants and regional initiatives with member organizations
