Andy Albarado, 2012 WEDA President
of the things that continually fascinates me about the field of
economic development is the wide range of backgrounds my colleagues
have. There is an amazing diversity of educational backgrounds, prior
work experiences, specialized expertise and stories of how we became ED
practitioners. Some are starting their careers in the field, while
others are finishing. For some it's been a lifelong career, while others
visit before moving on to other pursuits. Planners and engineers,
bankers and marketers, sales reps. and realtors–the fields are varied.
Some have college degrees, some have no degree, part-time, full-time,
sometimes, retired/unretired, MBA's and CED's. I even understand there
might be a music major or two.
Executive Director Update
It's 2013 and we are gearing up for an exciting

This year we have an even bigger line up of events and opportunities for our members to learn and grow professionally.

Development Council—again, scholarships are available with the first 40
registrants to receive a $200 discount.
- A wonderful event in Wausau on June 4 & 5, will include hands on training on fundraising for your organization
